Orem, UT – October 21, 2015 – All systems are go for UVU and BYU PRSSA members seeking to execrate their career preparation through resume development, personal social media best practices and networking opportunities at an event entitled: Launch Your Career. UVU PRSSA will host students, faculty and alumni from both universities Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2015, at 7 pm in UVU’s Sorensen Center, room 206 A, B and C.   

“We enjoy providing students with the tools, resources and personal connections they will need to successfully begin the transition from pre-professional to professional in the competitive world of PR,” says UVU PRSSA president Micah Jensen. “Launch Your Career will move participating students a step closer to being ready for internship and job opportunities in the near future.”

UVU PRSSA Begins the 2015-2016 Year of Events

Orem, UT – September 16, 2015 – Utah Valley University’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter will begin its year of 7 events on the first floor of the UVU Student Life and Wellness Center with an Opening Social, Sept. 16, 2015 at 7 pm. 

All chapter members, communication faculty and prospective members are invited to participate in various networking tasks, cast their vote for the naming of the chapter newsletter and enjoy food provided by Sensuous Sandwich

“Our expectations for the type and quality of events provided this year is very high,” said Jon Kovach, UVU PRSSA VP of Events. “ With the amount of adequate funding, planning and professional participation we have given ourselves access to this year we are ready to give our members excellent events focused on education, professional networking and accelerating their career opportunities.”  

Chapter information will be shared giving current, renewing and perspective members the chance to see the value of PRSSA membership. Attendees will also be able to participate in the naming of the UVU PRSSA newsletter, allowing them to already leave an institutional mark on the club. UVU PRSSA Holds Record Setting Elections

Orem, UT – February 18, 2015 – UVU PRSSA plans for the future as it holds Executive Board Student Elections featuring a record high number of candidates Wednesday night 7 pm – 9pm, Center Stage.

All current club members will have the opportunity to vote for the future leadership of UVU PRSSA Wednesday night in a traditional ballot format. UVU and BYU Team Up to Host Local PR Professionals

 

 

Orem, UT – November 13, 2014 – The PRSSA organizations of Utah Valley University (UVU) and Brigham Young University (BYU) have collaborated with Utah Valley PRSA representative Darren Perucci to host a pr mixer. The event will be held November 19th, 7:00-8:30 at UVU’s Center Stage.

 

Dozens of pr professionals from organizations in and around Utah Valley such as Method Communications, Vivint, Domo, MX, Wallaroo Media, Adobe and Intermountain Healthcare, in addition to over a hundred pr students, are expected to attend. Although not an internship fair, students will be able to network with professionals to discuss the field of communication, internships, pr careers, seek advice and obtain other valuable insights.

 

The event will provide food catered by Gondolfo’s New York Deli and Texas Road House, and feature an Italian soda bar. Whether to eat, engage, or interact, join us for this pr mixer.

Sports Communication to Score Big at UVUPRSSA Event

 

 

Orem, UT – October 8, 2014 – The Utah Valley University Public Relations Student Society of America (UVUPRSSA) 2014 Executive Board is set to welcome multiple sports communication professionals to Utah Valley University’s campus October 22nd at 7pm in the Sorenson Student Center, 206b. 

 

These guests, scheduled to speak at the second UVUPRSSA event of 2014, include Jarom Jordan, BYUtv Sports Studio Producer and co-host of Sports Nation, Brett Pyne, Athletic Communications for Brigham Young University, Clint Burgi, Associate Athletic Director for Utah Valley University, and Jay Drew, who covers BYU athletics for the Salt Lake Tribune.
