Next week, UVU’s PRSSA chapter is hosting its first ever public relations campaign night, “Under PRessure” on Tuesday, November 15th at 7pm in CB 204.

This is an exciting engaged learning opportunity open to all students wherein they may put their public relations skills to work in a fun and competitive environment alongside their peers.

Upon arrival at the event, attendees will be divided up into teams filled with both young and older classmen (both of which bring unique perspectives and valuable skills to the group) and together will be given a campaign prompt. Each team will then have one hour to research and develop a communications plan in response to the prompt and its specific guidelines.

Students will be assigned a team room prepared with snacks and writing materials along with campaign objectives, a campaign budget, timeline, judging rubric and set of guidelines before the competition begins. All are welcome to bring a laptop to assist with research needs.

After one hour, each group will film an explanatory video which will then be submitted to the judging panel of PR professionals. Members of the winning team will receive recognition on the PRSSA website, newsletter and social media outlets as well as a certificate and gift card. The winning team will be announced on November 28th via PRSSA’s social media outlets and website.

This event will provide students hands-on case study and resume-building experience, an expansion to their portfolios and the chance to network with fellow communication students. COME ONE, COME ALL! Let's see what YOU can do #UnderPRessure.
