UVU PRSSA hosts sports night with alumni Chris Bailey, director of VIP services for the Utah Jazz and the Jazz 100 Club
Orem, UT, Jan. 13, 2016 - Utah Valley University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (UVU PRSSA) (www.uvuprssa.org) invites students, faculty, and alumni to attend sports night with Chris Bailey, director of VIP services for the Utah Jazz and the Jazz 100 Club, to learn the industry’s most current and innovative public relations (PR) practices on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at seven pm at UVU’s Center Stage.
“We feel it a great privilege to have Chris joining us for our sports night,” said Jon Kovach, UVU PRSSA, vice president of events. “We hope to enhance our students educational experience through current content, and Chris is just the person to provide such information. We also hope having Chris at UVU will provide an opportunity for our students to broaden their professional network.”
Bailey’s presentation will focus on corporate communication and culture, and requirements and expectations for the sports PR industry. Bailey will also be available for a question and answer session at the end of the event. Students unable to attend may tune into the event live via Periscope @UVUPRSSA.
Bailey is the director of VIP services for Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment, overseeing VIP experiences and opportunities with the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, and Vivint Smart Home Arena. Utilizing his background and expertise in communication, Bailey engages daily with Utah’s most prominent and successful business and community leaders. Leading a team of 45 full and part- time professionals, Bailey and his team direct the operations and guest communication for Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment VIP and premium seating assets including all Utah Jazz, Vivint Smart Home Arena, and Salt Lake Bees Luxury Suites, the Utah Jazz VIP Club, Interform Executives Club, Lexus Club, Legends Club, and Jazz 100 Club.
A product of the UVU PR program, Bailey graduated magna cum laude, and was awarded the department of communication outstanding student award and PR outstanding student award. While attending UVU, Bailey was awarded the prestigious Ogilvy PR worldwide summer internship in Atlanta, Georgia working under the mentorship of the CEO and chairman elect of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
