Fourteen New Members Elected for New Executive Board

OREM, UT - February 21, 2017 - Utah Valley University's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (UVU PRSSA) held elections for the 2018-2019 Executive Board positions. Nearly all of the current members on the Executive Board will be graduating at the end of the semester, which leaves many positions open for new candidates.

The Executive Board is made up of 14 positions which are filled by paid member students of UVU PRSSA. Each Vice President of each position serves in a variety of different areas such as service or advocacy to digital communication. Each committee fulfills a need within the chapter to better serve the members of PRSSA.

Tanner Kahl, who currently serves as VP of Advocacy, was named President of next year's Executive Board. In his acceptance speech, Kahl expressed that he wants to continue the unity the chapter has built from last year by getting more members active in PRSSA.

“I want more members involved with the everything that goes into the chapter,” Kahl said. “I want them to help the chapter grow with the greatness that is already within the current chapter.”

Bringing a year of experience to the Executive Board, Adam Giddings was named the Vice President of the Executive Board for next year. Even though he may be a junior, he plans on bringing what he learned from last year to move PRSSA forward.

“I gained a lot of experience working as VP of Fundraising,” Giddings said. “I have more PRSSA experience where I don’t necessarily have as much college experience. I want to use that to bring adequate representation to the lower [school] classes and bring them into the organization.”
